“Embracing the Uncertain”
February 22 – April 5, 2026
Just turning on the news lets us know we are living in uncertain times. Our individual lives are often just as unsteady. Uncertainty can definitely be uncomfortable. Many of us prefer stability and a predictable future to an unknown fate. We are wired to want to control our destiny. The reality is that in our fast-changing, unpredictable world there are few guarantees in life. It’s those who are willing to embrace uncertainty and make the risky decision to follow Jesus despite the many “unknowns” who will reap the greatest rewards. Embracing the Uncertain this Lent invites us to engage and wrestle with life’s uncertainties, not ignore them.
Join us at 5:30 pm for a potluck lunch at Dave and Karen Booth’s house. Please bring a dish to pass. Karen is making ricotta stuffed shells. RSVPs are helpful but not mandatory. Sign up at church or contact the church office (213-798-2181 or Office@LakeHarborUMC.org) or Karen Booth. Please read the Scripture and message synopses and preview the videos before we gather if at all possible.
