We are obsessed with sex – and much of our obsession is centered on lust, not love. Lust is thought of as a private sin, but in this most intimate area of our lives, we honor and seek the holiness of a God who wants every part of us, who is concerned not only for the actions of people and affairs of this world, but also for our thoughts and feelings.  Lust has both a relational and personal impact. When sex is treated casually, as an act of consumption and personal gratification rather than for the benefit of the relationship, we see our most selfish tendencies and the harm it can cause. “Lust is the craving for salt of a person who is dying of thirst.”
