There is nothing inherently wrong with work, but God’s commandment to keep the sabbath and admonishment to “Be still,” remind us that we are not God and we can and should “give it a rest.” The commandment to keep the sabbath is one that might not seem as important as the one about not murdering. But what and who, suffers in our society when we value economic security over well-being?
