After the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus sends his disciples across the Sea of Galilee in a boat, while he heads to a mountain to pray. Jesus approaches the disciples’ boat in the middle of a storm, walking on the rough sea, and calming their fears. How do we understand that God can show up, even when we don’t recognize him? How do we hold onto the promised that God never leaves us, always cares about what we are going through, and sometimes calms the child, not the storm?
