August 31, 2025: “Anger or Forgiveness?”

Aug 24, 2025 | 0 comments

Proverb: An angry person stirs up conflict, and a hot-tempered person commits many sins. (29:22)

One writer calls anger “the most fun” of the seven deadly sins, but also recognizes that anger can eat us up. Though anger can be a natural response to knowing the world is not as it ought to be or a sincere cry from people in pain, when it’s misdirected, anger can ferment into bitterness, make us unwilling to take responsibility to change things, and even lead us to resentment, depression, and violence. How can we seek to forgive with God’s help and work for what is just and right?

Pastor Mary’s message is based on Psalm 137: 1-8 and Ephesians 4:22-32.
