This week is the first in a three week series, “Mission: Possible.” On of the five practices of fruitful living is risk-taking mission and service. Mission is not a trip. Rather, it is an opportunity to bless others as we’ve been blessed – and understand that we can be blessed by others. Mission is defined as all that we do to make a positive difference in the lives of other for the purposes of Christ, whether or not they will ever be part of the community of faith. The Epistle of James provide us the spark we need.
Faith in Jesus requires our engagement – and making the connection between hearing and doing. It’s not simply a call to do more or to be busy. This is a call to personal holiness and social holiness – loving God with heart and life. “Worship – What Is It?” helps remind us of our call.
