Welcoming All, Empowered by Christ, Sent Forth to Serve

July & August 2020 worship: “Old School: Prophets”

We don’t always pay close attention to the certain parts of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, even though Jesus quoted it frequently. In fact, the prophets, especially the Minor Prophets (named that because the books are short in length and fit on one scroll), are overlooked even as they have a lot to say about how we love God and love one another. They are truth-tellers and fore-tellers (not fortune tellers or future tellers!) offering comfort to God’s people, but also challenging them and critiquing them for empty worship and a lack of care for the most vulnerable.

This worship series will run from  July 12 through August 16. To learn more about it, click here to read what the Worship Connections Team came up with at the June 22 brainstorming.
