Welcoming All, Empowered by Christ, Sent Forth to Serve

September 2017: Risk-Taking Mission and Service

The mission of Lake Harbor United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are called to love each other, hence our vision:

Welcoming all. Empowered by Christ. Sent forth to serve.

During the month of September, we’ll take a look at some of the ways we can live out that call to risk-taking mission and service especially as it pertains to our United Methodist Social Principles:

Rev. Paul Webster and his friend, Sylvester, shared their work of integrated agriculture in Zambia, including this video. It was a reminder that we’re a part of truly transforming the world through our support of global mission projects.

We praise God for the opportunity to see our outreach to Ross Park Elementary School come alive. Thanks to our MNO Team and Myke Bos for their work in purchasing, organizing, and packing totes for teachers and preparing gift cards for support staff and preschool teachers. The folks at Ross Park were so thankful!

We look forward to having representatives from the following organizations share stories during worship:

Sept. 10 at 9:00 am: Marian McDermed from Family Promise of the Lakeshore

Sept. 10 at 11:00 am: Stephanie Kerr-Cathey from Kids Food Basket

Sept. 17 at 9:00 am: Joe Whalen and Nate Johnson from 70×7

Sept. 17 at 11:00 am: Brenda Tiede from The Hope Project
