Welcoming All, Empowered by Christ, Sent Forth to Serve

April 24, 2016 message: “A Good Ghost Story”

Telling stories is an important way to activate our brains and to unleash creativity. The disciples had a story to tell when Jesus came to them and proclaimed peace. They thought he was a ghost, but he was alive. Jesus’ presence with us can be startling at first, and the peace he offers can be surprising when we’re unsettled and restless. Jesus desires that we get close to him. Ministries like Christian camping are transformative times to get to know Jesus personally and in community with others.

This is the fourth and last message in the series, “Hidden in Plain Sight.” To read Pastor Mary’s message, based on Luke 24: 36-49, click here.

We handed out the a magnet with this image:

Stare at the four black dots in the center of the image for 30 - 60 seconds. Then quickly close your eyes and look at something bright (like a lamp or a window with sunlight coming through it). You should see a white circle with an image inside it.
