The Roots Community
What have we been up to?
Well over the course of the summer, there has been some changes for The Roots. The ministry had previously been given life from lots of prayer and discernment over five years ago at Lakeside UMC. Due to a change of course for Lakeside, this ministry is no longer finically supported by Lakeside. So the leadership of Roots has worked with the leaders at Lake Harbor to see if we could bring The Roots to Lake Harbor. This has been agreed upon to allow The Roots to meet at Lake Harbor. We planned the start of our weekly meetings at Lake Harbor to beginning on Thursday, September 11th at 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Where will we meet and what will it look like?
We will be meeting in the Celebration space in the sanctuary every Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30pm. We will be worshipping together through songs, message, bible studies, service projects, and fellowship time. We like to keep changing and moving, so any one of these or more will be taking place during our gathering time together.
Who are We Trying to Reach?
We will never turn anyone away. Originally this was designed for young adults but we leave the age thing up for you to decide. Ultimately we want to help reach those who are searching for something more during their week, looking for a faith community who likes to question and tackle some hard topics, maybe aged out of youth group but want that type or style of group into young adulthood, etc.
