Joseph is one of the few biblical characters whose whole life is recorded in Scripture. His story affirms that God loves us in all seasons of life and faith and is a good example of the lifelong journey of faith and spiritual maturity.
Joseph is treated as loved and special, which sustains him throughout his life. We tell our kids that they’re loved and special, which is vital to faith development. As parents, we’re going to mess up (Jacob wasn’t perfect), but the love we convey helps move our children from being self-centered to later (hopefully) finding a balance between God’s love for us and for everyone else.
This is the first week in the series, “Real Life. Real Faith.” Pastor Mary’s message is based on Genesis 37: 1-5, 12-28. The service is available in its entirety on YouTube.
