The word “companion” means “one who breaks bread with another.” Jesus’ presence is fully realized when he breaks bread with those who are walking home from Jerusalem, and they go back and share their experience with others. In the sacrament of Holy Communion and in the sacramental moments of our lives, Christ is present. Pastor Mary’s message is based on Luke 24: 13-35, “On the Road to Emmaus.”
